In her two-and-a-half-decade career as a freelance journalist, Bhagyalakshmi Krishnamurthy, part of the faculty of the National School of Journalism (NSOJ) in Bangalore, has written for a host of front-line publications in India and abroad. Apart from her many travel articles, she was one of the first to publish a guidebook and app—Destination Mysore: Yoga and More—with GuideGecko, the world’s largest publishing portal for travel guides.

A former columnist with The Hindu in Hyderabad, she regularly writes on travel for the Sunday Magazine, Deccan Herald, and The Times of India’s Speaking Tree, among others. She has completed the travel journalism course conducted by MatadorU, part of the Matador Network, which is one of the largest ecosystems for travel journalism.

Nothing gives her greater pleasure than packing her bags, hitting the road with her family, and then sharing her experiences through her blog, Of Places and People. She remains, at heart, a nomadic chronicler.
